Specific features of the community and region :
Nakhon Pathom is located about 45 km west of Bangkok, the capital and biggest city in Thailand. Our community is surrounded by orchid and fruit gardens. Although we are located within an hours drive from Bangkok, our community is more quiet in comparison. There are not many foreigners that live here. At our school, one can experience traditional rural Thai lifestyles and still be close enough to the city to get away for a change of scenery when it's needed. Many areas in our province belong to the Royal Family and so it is kept free of factories and pollution in order to provide students and people a clean and healthy surrounding. Many people here are farmers and gardeners. They are welcoming and friendly. There are many religious ceremonies at Putthamonthon where many people come together to celebrate.
Salaya is a suburban town of Bangkok. It is about 20 kilometres away from Bangkok. Therefore, it is quite convenient to travel to Bangkok. It takes about 40-60 minutes by bus to the Victory Monument.
Salaya is home for many educational institutes such as Mahidol University, Rajmangala University of Technology, Metropolitan Police Academy and several schools. As a result, it is a peaceful and livable town.
