School Exchange Program
The High School
Exchange Program USA has been specifically designed
to permit qualified foreign secondary school students to enter
the United States of America in order to study and live for
a five-month academic semester, or a ten-month academic year.
These academic studies are located in accredited public or private
secondary schools. During their stay in the States, students
enjoy the home comforts and first-hand cultural experience of
living with specially selected host families located throughout
the U.S. High School Exchange students attend school as full-time
students and are required to attend the school for not less
than one academic semester (or its quarter equivalent) and not
longer than one full academic year.
Overseas Ed is also extremely privileged to have established
a relationship with Her Royal Highness Princess Somsawalee.
Under her auspices, we have undertaken the administration of
a unique high school exchange program in an effort to contribute
to the well being of particular younger members of Thai society.
This program, co-sponsored by CIEE, awards two full scholarships
and more than ten partial scholarships annually to carefully
selected, deserving Thai students. Since starting the program
in 1993, there have been more than 20 underprivileged Thai students
who have successfully received the educational benefits of full
scholarships.
There is no better way to learn about a different culture than
to live, study and become a member of a new community abroad.
