INTERNSHIP USA

Program Information

Program Overview

Internship USA is one of a number of University Exchange Programs which offer opportunities for University students who are currently studying or who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. The program legally provides for up to 18 months internship in the USA in major or related fields of study. Our exchange partner organization in the USA is responsible for ensuring the local employer accepts students correctly and for making sure that the students receive chances to work in their major fields of study. Students may intern in the USA for 2-12 months (or extend the duration to 18 months maximum). They can also commence the internship at any time of the year depending on the contract between themselves and the hiring organization. Students may contact and apply to the organization by themselves but can also use the employer database provided by Overseas Educational Group.

Purpose
  • To encourage international students who wish to intern in their major or related fields of study and gain real working skills in the USA.
  • To encourage visits by current university students, who need to intern in order to gain credits in their own institute’s curriculum. Also, to offer an opportunity to observe the working practices and skills in the USA in order to bring these back for use in their future careers.
  •
  • To support the exchange of working techniques including procedures and specialties in various fields and to encourage unique intellectual exchanges between international students and organizations in the USA.
  •
  • To encourage cultural exchanges and better understanding between international students and personnel in organizations in the USA.

They also give students chances to live in American society and to understand other cultures through working with Americans and other people in the international environment.
These programs are not in any case intended for the recruitment of labor.
Therefore, the programs’ participants must have student status and pass through certain selection criteria. After successfully completing the selection process, the program coordinators will request for individual student exchange visas (J - 1) from US Embassy to make the participants legally eligible for entry into the United States.
