Summer
Work and Travel USA
Program Information
This University Exchange Program permits students to learn
about the lifestyle and culture of Americans through working
in the USA during the summer vacation. According to American
law, students who participate in this program can work legally
in many different types of employment for up to 4 months.
The Overseas Educational Group and relevant US exchange organizations
cooperate in selecting a reputable company or organization
that complies with the employment criteria to be the students
employers in this program.
Purpose
To support and encourage non-American citizens or resident
non-American students to experience traveling in the USA along
with gaining working experience through seasonal jobs, similar
to the practice of many young Americans. As the result of
this work experience, students will have sufficient income
to cover their expenses during their stay and travel in the
USA. Moreover, students will have the chance to practice English
in their work place and during their travel. The program's
objectives are to encourage students to spend their summer
break in useful ways and to encourage students to learn from
actual experience outside of universities. Thus, students
will learn much from work experiences, from adjusting to a
new society, and from gaining responsibility.
